KPM31 single-phase DIN Rail Prepaid Energy Meter integrates data acquisition and control functions
Learn MoreIn industrial settings with limited distribution box space, installing multiple independent meters is both expensive and complex. The KPM312 multi-circuit energy meter offers a revolutionary solution: a single device can simultaneously monitor four three-phase circuits (or twelve single-phase circuits). Combined with RS485 Modbus-RTU communication, it is ideal for energy management in industrial parks, tenant billing, and data centers.
Traditionally, one meter is installed for each three-phase load. If you have four circuits, you need four meters, four times the installation space, and four times the wiring work.
Extremely High Space Utilization: Standard DIN rail mounting allows management of four independent three-phase loads with just the width of one meter.
Significantly Reduced Hardware Costs: The cost of purchasing one KPM312 is far lower than purchasing four independent three-phase smart meters.
Simplified Cabling and Construction: Only one power supply and one communication line (RS485) are required, significantly reducing cable tangling within the distribution cabinet.
Supports flexible combinations of 4 three-phase or 12 single-phase circuits. This flexibility enables it to handle a wide range of tasks, from monitoring large machinery to billing multi-tenant dormitories.
Each circuit supports full-parameter measurement, including voltage, current, active/reactive power, power factor, and frequency.
The system can independently display the power consumption of each circuit and also supports total power consumption statistics, facilitating energy allocation by property management.
Standard RS485 interface, supports Modbus-RTU, allowing easy integration with existing SCADA, EMS, or third-party IoT platforms.
A single floor's distribution box typically houses multiple tenants; the KPM312 can handle the billing needs of four tenants simultaneously.
Monitors the power consumption of different server groups within a rack, optimizing PUE values.
Simultaneously monitors four core motors or heating units within a large machine, analyzing energy bottlenecks.
Q1: How are the current transformers (CTs) of the KPM312 connected?
A: The KPM312 supports external CT access. For ease of installation, we generally recommend using it with a split-core CT. This means you can complete the installation without cutting the main cable, which is crucial in uninterrupted power supply retrofit projects.
Q2: Will the data from the four circuits be mixed up?
A: No. Each circuit has an independent register address in the Modbus protocol. Your backend system can clearly read real-time data from Circuit 1 to Circuit 4 without interference.
Q3: Does the KPM312 support harmonic measurement?
A: Yes, as an advanced industrial instrument, the KPM312 supports basic power quality analysis, helping engineers identify pollution sources in industrial power grids and protect expensive electronic equipment.
Upgrading to the KPM312 multi-circuit meter means choosing a simpler power distribution design and lower maintenance costs. Whether for new projects or urban redevelopment, the KPM312 is the optimal solution for multi-circuit monitoring.
